HomeServe are currently recruiting for a Senior PR & Communications Manager to join the Marketing Team in Walsall. You will be a key member of the HomeServe brand team responsible for driving and leading the delivery of proactive external consumer publicity focused on building consumer awareness of the HomeServe brand and products, whilst enhancing our reputation with consumers.
A creative thinker - you’ll be brimming with ideas and not afraid of testing and experimenting with them to ensure maximum brand coverage. You'll work closely with the content and social teams to meet our ambitious goals.
Our team work in a hybrid way, mostly remote with a minimum of two days a week in the Walsall office. Occasionally, there will be times where you will need to travel to London to work with our Partners (approximately 3-4 times per year).
The focus of the Customer Communications team is to deliver brilliant communications in line with the objectives of the brief developed by the Acquisition & Growth, and Customer Marketing teams, regardless of channel and product.
The team focusses on stand-out creative, agile working and utilising Marcomms technology combined with a strong level of governance and oversight to effectively manage risk and reduce incidents, delivering the best outcomes for both the customer and HomeServe.
The Customer Communications Department is made up of three areas:
- Brand - Creative, Content, PR & External Communications, Research
- Campaign - Management & Production
- Marketing Governance & Risk - Overall Marketing oversight and risk management
The purpose of the role is to lead strategic development and delivery of all proactive and reactive external consumer publicity, with a primary focus on media relationship building, creating activity, and supporting growth through excellent and engaging brand content that resonates with our target consumers. Creating a platform which builds consumer awareness, reputation growth, and shape a positive public perception of HomeServe.
This role is accountable for end-to-end management of all owned and earned media marketing channels (PR, Influencers, Ambassadors, social media) to achieve Marketing KPIs, drive awareness of the HomeServe brand(s), products and services and contribute to future growth.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead, manage and continuously optimise the owned and earned media channel mix, to achieve KPI targets and drive growth in digital and the HomeServe brand
- Lead and drive the day-to-day relationship with our external PR agency, brand partners, influencers, and ambassadors, together with our internal teams to lead on the planning and execution of all PR and organic media channel activities
- Develop new and existing media relationships, finding opportunities through unique storytelling, brand partnerships and campaign executions
- Deliver disruptive, high-impact activations as well as a best in class always-on press office, building on existing and creating new media relationships
- Lead champion/ challenger activity to optimise and grow channel - not afraid of testing and experimenting to ensure maximum brand coverage is achieved
- Develop innovative strategies and techniques which identify opportunities to drive efficiencies, and continuous improvements
- Manage media relations and serve as the primary point of contact for press inquiries, building and maintaining strong relationships with key journalists and media outlets and internal teams
- Write press releases and other media materials to ensure messaging is clear and aligned to the business goals
- Manage the PR and influencer budget, continuously optimising spend for efficiency and campaign performance. Collaborate with budget holders and finance to ensure robust budget management and reporting
- Have expert knowledge on traditional and digital PR and levers to improve performance, metrics, and investment Pay back; segmentation, topical relevance, targeting, seasonality etc
- Be comfortable with applying legislative requirements (FCA, DPA) as well as adhering to relevant codes of practice and ASA requirements
