About The Role

HomeServe is looking for a Head of Insight, Planning & Analysis to join the Marketing team, as a key senior position reporting in to our Chief Marketing Officer you will help us deliver short and long term commercial outcomes to achieve customer growth targets
 
The salary is highly competitive as well as added benefits of £7,000 cash/car allowance, 15% bonus, private medical cover, 6% matched pension.
 
The role can work remotely, with travel in to our office if/when required. 
 

The Insight, Planning and Analysis Team at HomeServe delivers reliable, high-quality analytics and insights to support the commercial decision making and planning for the Marketing function and wider business. Working closely with our Acquisition, Customer, Channel Data and Finance teams, they are responsible for driving deep understanding of Customers, performance, rich marketing insight and for driving high quality forecasting and planning

 
Some of the role responsibilities are;
 
  • To be a visible leader and champion for the adoption of analysis and insight in decision making -  as well as making customer insight more accessible to Marketing and the wider business

  • Ensuring analytical & insight outputs have recommendations that are action oriented, practical, achievable and have a clear line of sight to expected commercial outcomes (to include but not limited to response rate, campaign returns (ROI), channel attribution, conversion, retention, incremental value

  • To define and set the most important KPIs to measure across category and channel - with responsibility for tracking and analysing marketing performance against those KPIs

  • Accountable for leadership, planning and implementation of overall marketing analytics strategies

  • Oversight of the commercial assumptions in our marketing plans - ensuring they are robust and stand up to scrutiny - informed by prior learning, analytics and prior performance - including chairing activity approval meeting and test forums

  • Influence and drive development of the right strategies, campaigns and tests to drive continual improvements and performance

About You

The right individual will leverage their strong technical knowledge to develop and own the strategy for customer analysis, insight and planning. This includes customer analysis (e.g. customer, value and segmentation), campaign analytics (e.g. offline and online campaign performance), customer research (both qualitative and quantitative analysis) and forecasting and planning (e.g. annual budget assumptions and monthly reforecasting).

Essential:

 
  • Experience of running analysis and insight teams that have created demonstrable change through the commercial use of insight/ data driven outputs - comfortable striking a balance between hands-on and hands-off leadership

  • Commercially focused with desire to be connected with the commercial agenda of the business. Instinctively able to see the potential commercial value that insight generates

  • Experience of multi-channel attribution modelling and analysis/ econometrics

  • Exceptional communicator. Able to make the complex simple and demystify data and analytics. Ability to articulate analysis for a non-technical audience with clarity and in an engaging way

  • Able to act as the commercial conscience of the marketing function, to scrutinise and challenge assumptions and proposals to ensure optimal use of marketing budgets and investment

  • Highly collaborative with a wide perspective and proven ability to influence at senior level

  • Significant technical expertise. Able to advise-on and discuss technical approaches and statistical methods with analysts

  • Strong understanding of ‘Insight’ industry best practise and a champion for these approaches in the business

Desirable:

 
  • Demonstrable analytical problem solving capabilities

  • Advanced level experience with Excel

  • Strong appreciation of research methodologies and voice of the customer data sources

  • Technical understanding of data platforms and architectures

  • Experience of Data Science and predictive modelling

  • Experience in carrying out qualitative and quantitative research projects


Technical Skills:

 
  • Significant experience interrogating and analysing large datasets (preferably using SQL or other languages such a R or Python)

  • Experience in using traditional databases and data platforms (eg SQL Server, Google Cloud Platform, Azure)

  • Strong understanding of analytical / statistical tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Qlikview, Tableau, Alteryx). Advanced Excel and SPSS experience are beneficial

  • Experienced in applying statistical techniques to deduce influences from different attributes e.g. multiple regression, multivariate analysis of variance, discriminant analysis

  • Experience in building commercial forecasts that stand up to scrutiny of other business areas
